INSPIRE * ELEVATE * CREATE

Welcome to our DANCE FAMILY.

Elevation Dance Refinery is an extension of Meraki Dance Company. Indy’s newest professional company, under the direction and ownership of Karome Walker. Elevation is a place where dancers will receive structure, discipline and technique in dance. Our professional educators have an amazing way to make dance fun for all ages while growing into beautiful dancers and human beings. Elevation is the perfect place for a dancer who wants to dance as a hobby AND a place where dancers can aspire higher dance goals.

Elevation is a recreational studio that offers an elite training program, performance and competitions teams as an option for dancers that want more than one or two classes a week.

We pride ourselves in creating a fun, friendly, learning environment for ALL dancers. Our studio is where memories and forever friendships are made. You will see growth in your dancer when they join our dance family.

MISS KAROME

“I will push any dancer above and beyond, but they must be willing to work. Great dancers are not created over night, they are created with hard work and determination.”

Karome Walker, Artistic Director and Owner of Elevation, has spent over a decade as a studio director, professional choreographer, educator and performer.

Throughout her years of choreographing, traveling, and competing with the Dance Team Association, her passion for dance grew tremendously. Her choreography continues to receive high recognition around the Midwest area. Karome is known for her breathtaking, thought-provoking choreography that leaves the audiences feeling, thinking, and wanting more. Her collegiate level of training in ballet, pointe, jazz, modern (Horton), contemporary, and lyrical allows her to bring out the best in every dancer, no matter the age or experience; pushing them in a fun, challenging, and inspiring way.

After studying dance performance and education at Ball State University, Karome earned her Bachelor of Science degree in 2010 and went to dance with Emmy-Award nominated choreographer, Jeffery Page in Broadway in Black.  Later, she decided to try something different, and joined Epiphany Dance Collective, an African Dance Company in Indianapolis, Indiana. Karome fulfilled her love for performing, and decided to focus on her true passion of choreography and educating young dancers. Karome has choreographed for Iibada Dance Company, The Performing Arts Conservatory, New Jerusalem Dance Team, Wishes Dance Studio, and Synergy Dance Company, to name a few. Her work has been seen in Broadway in Black, Spotlight, Glorious, YAGP, 1in5, and many other shows in the Midwest area.

Karome is excited and ready to hit the ground running in the next phase of her professional career as a studio owner and can’t wait for you to join our dance family.
